The Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association (ARHCA) sent a survey to its members in April. They presented the survey results at the ABCGA AGM in September.
The results of the survey indicated that long wait times for utility operators to respond to locate requests are a large concern for respondents and may even cost smaller companies money from lost time. 70 per cent answered that scheduling and wait times are the biggest challenge when planning locates.
The ARHCA also took the opportunity to ask what ground disturbance training employers provide to their employees: 30 per cent of the respondents said they do not provide ground disturbance training to their employees.
